Second Chance Month
Have you heard of Second Chance Month? This month holds space for education and awareness around the impact of incarceration and the importance of second-chance opportunities for returning citizens.
We’re taking the opportunity to spotlight this important cause across our social media platforms this April. We’ll be exploring conversations around what it means to be the nation with the highest incarceration rate in the world and what we can do to offer support. This is an issue that disproportionally affects our Black and Brown neighbors, and it is crucial for us to understand the serious need for attention and resources surrounding this topic.
We invite you to come along this month as we embark on this educational journey. Please don’t hesitate to send over any additional resources you’d like us to share – we’re learning together! You can always reach us at [email protected].
Hefty and important as this topic is, that’s not all we have going on this April! This month is also National Volunteer Month and National Fair Housing Month, and we’re naturally big advocates for both! We’ll be sharing volunteer opportunities as they come up and articles around fair housing & legislation. To learn more, follow our LinkedIn and Facebook platforms, where we’re dedicated to breaking down the updates that affect our city.
Finally, our Flocksters are participating in La Clinica Del Pueblo’s Walk-A-Thon For Health, and our team is determined to get our steps in this April! Stay tuned for what’s sure to be an exciting month full of education, awareness, and, hopefully, some happy Walk-A-Thon puppy photos!
