Happy Pride, DC!

It’s officially Pride month and our Flocksters are ready for the festivities! Flock quite literally wouldn’t be here without our incredible LGBTQ+ team members (our boss lady included)and we’re spending this month, as we always do, making sure they feel supported and celebrated.

We’re getting into the spirit of the month in our offices with rainbow decor, special treats, and, of course, celebrating the riot that started it all and continuing our education on how we can continue to be good allies to this amazing community.

DC will have A LOT of events this month. We take Pride seriously. Here’s a round-up of a few happenings our team has their eyes on:

First up, Dupont Underground is hosting a variety of different events throughout June, and the rumors are true — drag is back!

You can catch some of DC's best Drag Performers at Drag Underground every Friday in June or join them for Queer Tango classes every Tuesday this month! Dupont Underground will also be hosting an exhibition featuring 30+ local artists exploring the nuances of their gender identities and the fluidity within identity labels.

Don’t miss A Tour Of Her Own’s “Under the Rainbow” queer history walking tour on June 17 at 5 p.m. or the Unicorn Kids Club: “Trans/Gender-creative Kids” at the Anacostia Community Museum on June 18, 11 a.m. to noon. The Unicorn Kids Club welcomes trans, nonconforming/fluid kids to come for story-times and other activities to celebrate what makes them magical!

And of course, you can’t miss the Capital Pride Parade and Block Party on June 11th! The parade starts at 3 p.m. with a new route you can find here and the block party will run along 17th St from noon to 10 p.m.
